Common questions

Where can I stay for the NZ Women’s Open at Wainui?

O’Grady Lodge borders the Wainui Golf Course fairways directly — the clubhouse and first tee are a 1.1km drive, or a walk, from the rooms. It is the closest boutique accommodation to the course. Four ensuite rooms, each with a double spa bath and private balcony or garden patio, bookable individually or as a whole wing sleeping eight. Beyond that, Orewa is fifteen minutes away and Auckland CBD thirty.

How far is O’Grady Lodge from Wainui Golf Course?

1.1km by road from the lodge to the clubhouse and first tee. The property shares a boundary with the course, so you are looking at the fairways from the balcony rooms. No transfers, no parking hunt at either end of the day.

Can a group take the whole property for tournament week?

Yes. The Whole Wing is all four ensuite rooms plus a private lounge and deck with an open fire, with its own entrance, separate from the main house — it sleeps eight. It works for a player and team, a group of friends following the golf, or a company hosting guests. From $1,500 a night outside peak dates; tournament-week pricing shows in the search above.

Is there a minimum stay during the Open?

Four nights, on every room, from 14–19 March 2027. The tournament runs 18–21 March with a welcome event on the 16th and a Pro-Am on the 17th, so most people staying for the golf are here for several nights anyway.

What else is nearby if I’m making a trip of it?

Orewa beach and its cafes are fifteen minutes; Wenderholm Regional Park twenty; Matakana’s vineyards, Saturday market and sculpture trails about thirty. Te Arai Links is just under an hour north if you want a second course. Our local guide has the places we actually send people to.
